Cadigan was given a letter of commendation from the Stamford Police Department for his efforts in rendering medical aid to another recruit during a physical training session at the Stamford Police Academy in June. Cadigan was recognized during a special meeting of the Darien Police Commission on July 10, according to meeting minutes.
Cadigan began his probationary employment period this week in Darien and will go through several more months of comprehensive field training, the department noted.
