DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department last week welcomed a new officer into the ranks.

Steven Lambrinakos was sworn in by Darien Police Commissioner Kim Huffard, and he was presented with his badge by Chief Jeremiah P. Marron Jr., according to a social media post from the department.

Lambrinakos was born and raised in Stamford and attended Stamford Public Schools and graduated from Trinity Catholic High School in 2013, the department said. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Scranton in 2017.

Police say Lambrinakos began working at a young age as a caddie at Wee Burn Country Club, which taught him the value of hard work, teamwork and community connection.

"He went on to build a successful career in the private sector in various sales and service-oriented roles before deciding to pursue his lifelong goal of a career in public service," police said. "Officer Lambrinakos is proud to begin his law enforcement career with the Darien Police Department and looks forward to protecting and serving the community."
