Why are you seeking this office?
Ensure Darien residents are getting value for their tax dollars; to preserve the limited open space in Darien; continue to fund the schools to maintain their excellent reputation (I was a 1969 DHS graduate).

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
The single most important issue facing families and the Town is the rising cost of healthcare which has outstripped the consumer price index (CPI). I recommend that the Town each year go out to bid for healthcare coverage. Additionally, through my employment, I know some benefits consultants who could assist in plan design and negotiations.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have been on the Board of Finance off and on since 1997. Additionally, I have been a Darien resident since 1962. This longevity gives me a unique perspective on what has wored in Darien, and what has not.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Healthcare costs; possible refinancing of the Town's debt with potential decreasing interest rates; maintaing open space.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I created a computer program which the Town utilizes to coordinate tax benefits for the elderly and low-income families. Together with a member of the Board of Selectmen, I developed a home loan program which enables families to remain in homes while the Town uses the loan to pay property taxes. In my first term, I recommended that the Town refinance its debt, resulting in a savings of several thousand dollars.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Do your homework.
