Power Restored At Darien High School, 2-Hour Delay Still In Effect: Interim Superintendent
An update on the cause of the power outage was issued Monday morning by Interim Superintendent of Darien Public Schools Dr. Eric Byrne.
DARIEN, CT — Power has been restored to Darien High School Monday morning following a brief outage that was caused by an animal climbing on power lines, Interim Superintendent Dr. Eric Byrne said.
According to an update Byrne, the school will open as planned after a two-hour delay.
Classes will begin at 9:40 a.m. All other schools in Darien are operating on a normal schedule.

"We were informed by Eversource that an animal climbing on the power lines caused the outage earlier this morning," Byrne said in an update. "Thank you for your patience and understanding."
