Benedict Nelson Smith II, 89, a longtime Darien resident, passed away on March 11, 2025; born March 25, 1935, in New York City, he had a 37-year career in personal wealth management, volunteered with several community organizations such as the Darien Nature Center, Darien Historical Society, At Home in Darien, Saint Luke's Parish and the Community Fund, and is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Rosemary Quill (née Tallis), 90, passed away on March 18, 2025; born Aug. 24, 1934, in Frolesworth, England, she was active in scouting, school PTAs, 4-H, Pony Club, garden clubs, art councils, and Questers Club, enjoyed gardening, painting, knitting, and traveling, and is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Barkurios "Marcus" Buissereth, 64, passed away on March 12, 2025; born Apr. 16, 1960, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he ran his own business specializing in heating, plumbing, and electrical work, spent 27 years at Associated Waters Industry Inc., was an active member of Stamford Baptist Church, and is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings.
Doris E. Herbert, 95, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025; a University of Connecticut alumna, she worked for a patent attorney in Manhattan, raised five children, volunteered in Darien schools, led Brownies, contributed to Darien Answers, and was an active member of Shorehaven Golf Club and Windstar on Naples Bay, FL.
