Traffic Advisory Issued For Tokeneke Pumpkin Carnival
Motorists should expect minor delays and be alert to pedestrians of all ages, police said.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department has issued a trafic advisory and information about travel restrictions and partial road closures for the Tokeneke Pumpkin Carnival, which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, at Tokeneke Elementary School.
"This designated traffic and parking pattern makes travel through the area safer for all. Motorists should expect minor delays and be alert to pedestrians of all ages. Motorists not attending the event should consider alternate routes to their destination," police said in the advisory.
Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Old Farm Road at Tokeneke Road will be closed to all incoming traffic, and it will be open for outgoing traffic only, police said.

All Tokeneke Association residents — and guests of residents — are advised to enter the Tokeneke Association through the alternate entrances of Arrowhead Way, Driftway Lane, or Five Mile River Road.
Ample off-street parking is available for those attending the event at two commercial parking lots located at 100 and 120 Tokeneke Road, according to police. On-street parking will also be permitted on Tokeneke Road only in areas as posted. There is no parking allowed on Old Farm Road.

Additionally, there is no parking allowed on any private road of the Tokeneke Association. The Tokeneke Association Police will be patrolling the private roads to deter violations.
The police depatment said it will have officers assigned to the event to assist both motorists and pedestrians.
