Traffic And Parking Advisories Issued Ahead Of School Graduations In Darien: What To Know

Here's what you should know ahead of the graduation ceremonies for Middlesex Middle School and Darien High School.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department has issued traffic and parking advisories ahead of scheduled graduations in town over the next few days.

The Middlesex Middle School graduation is slated to take place at Darien High School on Friday, June 13. The DHS graduation will be held on Monday, June 16.

The following traffic regulations will be put into effect for the area surrounding DHS on June 13 at 3 p.m., and June 16 at 3:30 p.m.

As in previous years, all traffic will enter the high school grounds via Noroton Avenue. Vehicular traffic will not be permitted to enter the area via High School Lane or Nutmeg Lane, according to police. Officers will be present to direct all vehicles to appropriate and designated parking areas.

Police noted all vehicles will be properly parked to facilitate and expedite the safe flow of vehicles at the conclusion of the graduation ceremonies.

If needed, vehicles will be parked on both sides of Nutmeg Lane and High School Lane facing away from DHS, police added

Motorists are asked to pay particular attention to posted "No Parking" areas. In the past, illegally parked vehicles have blocked or restricted access to emergency vehicles, police said. Improperly parked vehicles will be towed.

Handicap-accessible parking will be located in the lower parking lot near the stadium field. Drivers should let traffic officers know if they need to park there and they will be directed accordingly.
