David A. Adams

Lived in Milford and Naples, Florida

David Arthur Adams of Milford, Connecticut and Naples, Florida passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born in Milford on June 25, 1941, to the late Arthur N. and Antoinette (née Pavia) Adams. David was the loving husband of the late Shirley Fox Adams.

David grew up in Milford and attended the local school systems and participated in scouting as a youngster. He enjoyed spending time with his grandfather on the boat fishing and crabbing in Milford harbor and beyond. He met the love of his life Shirley at the age of 19 and they spent many wonderful years together. At retirement he became a seasonal resident of Naples, FL.

David's career traversed several paths, he helped to manage his family air freight business, police officer and real estate agent, to name a few. David was a member of First United Church of Christ of Milford, he was also a member of their Plymouth Men’s Club and Naples United Church of Christ. David used his love of cooking to serve others through various activities and volunteer work.

David's family was everything to him, he will be sadly missed by his two sisters, Gail Adams Acampora of Prospect, VA, Mariann Adams-Seaman of East Haven, brother-in-laws, Garry Doering and Brian Seaman, sister-in-law, Dorothy Fox Broderick (Leigh). He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews, Garrett (Susan) Doering of NY, Monica (Carl) Jackson of VA, Jeffrey (Jinky) Doering of VA, David (Julie) Doering of GA, Edward Acampora of VA and Stacy (Christopher) Gilson of VA, Gardner (Kathleen) Broderick of CT, Wesley (Sarah) Broderick of CT, Jamison (Aileen) Broderick of CT, 20 great nieces and nephews, 7 great-great nieces and nephews, as well as Vincent Maniscalco who David thought of as a nephew, cousins and many friends from CT to FL and in between. He is predeceased by his sister, Dawn Adams Doering, his brother, Arthur N. Adams and brother-in-law Frank Acampora.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the First United Church of Christ, 34 West Main Street, Milford. There are no visiting hours.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the GREGORY DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD.
