East Haven 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places

EAST HAVEN, CT — On Nov. 7, East Haven residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: the town council and school board.

Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

The Democratic candidate is Joseph A. Carfora, the Republican candidate is Samantha "Sam" Parlato and the Petitioning candidate is Anthony R. Camposano.

Town Council District 1

You'll vote for up to three people. Democratic candidates are: Ann Penington, Ashley Lesco and Beth Capotorto, and Republican candidates include: Sandy Swierad Woodhouse, Eileen Parlato and David Hultgren.

Town Council District 2

You'll vote for up to three people. Democratic candidates are: Karen Martin, Joe Deko, and Joe Santino, Republican candidates include: Kelli Carr, Carmine Riccitelli and Sharon Cote.

Town Council District 3

You'll vote for up to three people. Democratic candidates are: Lou Pacelli, Marianne Cesare and Paul Thompson, Republican candidates include: Bill Richardson, Louis DeSorbo and Carl Ruggiero Sr.

Town Council District 4

You'll vote for up to three people. Democratic candidates are: Michael Ginnetti, Tina Hedley and Sue Stacey, Republican candidates include: Mark Christman, R.J. Connors and Linda Hennessey.

Town Council District 5

You'll vote for up to three people. Democratic candidates are: Guy A. Bimonte Jr., Joseph Kikosicki, and Al Vollono, Republican candidates include: Bryan Surprenant, Joan A. Adamczyk and Loria Jaffe.

Town Clerk

The Democratic candidate is Lisa Balter and the Republican candidate is Stacy Gravino.

Board of Finance

You'll vote for up to four people. The Democratic candidate are: Al Purzycki, Ronald Desena, Rich Esposito and Chris Perdo. Republican candidates include: Beth Percell, Frank Aiello, Ralph J. Vitale, and Rich Goulart.

Board of Education

You'll vote for up to six people. Democratic candidates are: Karen Putney, Michele A. Delucia, Erika Santino Santiago, Jack Stacey, Marianne Johnson, and Patricia (Tia) DePalma. Republican candidates include: Lynn A. Torello, Jennifer Dilungo, Thomas DeMatteo, Thomas Hennessey, Kerry Martens, and Nick Adams.
