East Haven Dad Is 'My Best Friend & I'm Very Proud Of Who He Is'

EAST HAVEN, CT— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. East Haven, meet Jeff Lendroth.

If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Seralyn who nominated Jeff Lendroth of East Haven.

What makes your dad extra special?

My dad, Jeff Lendroth, is the most selfless person I know. He has inspired me and my sister to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. He enrolled us in sports, extracurricular activities, school, driving lessons, and everything around that. He not only gives me and my sister advice but also gives advice to our friends and companions. He not only worries about my family, he has concerns with schools, the town and everything else. He was on the school committee for a while sharing his concerns and regards. He also works as much and as hard as he possibly can to give me, my sister and my mom the best life we can get. He has given me everything I could ever ask for and more without even asking for it. My birthday is June 19th meaning that every other year it is on Father’s Day. On those years, he sacrifices the day to give it to me so that we can celebrate the day I made him a father instead of recognizing him being a father. He is my number one supporter from driving me to all of my practices and attending every game he possibly could along with my sister's swim meets. He is now going to be a grandfather to my sister's child. He is very excited and I feel as if he should be recognized more than what we give him credit for. I know that one day I won’t be able to tell him how thankful I truly am for him and neither will anyone else. I know that if I ever needed anyone in an emergency situation, he would be my first phone call and he would drop everything he is doing to come and help me. He is my best friend and I am very proud of who he is and what he’s done for everyone around him. I love my dad.

Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?

He’s just done so much for everyone and he deserves so much more than just a spotlight!
