East Haven Graduate 'Exemplary Role Model' With 'Commitment To Caring'

EAST HAVEN, CT — Graduation is a major milestone and deserves to be celebrated! That's why Patch and T-Mobile have teamed up to recognize our community's outstanding 2024 graduates.

This submission comes from Ghanshyam "Sammy" Patel who nominated his son Kush of East Haven. Kush is graduating from the Tufts University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program with a Master of Medical Science degree.

Tell us why they deserve to be nominated!

Kush Patel is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant specializing in Dermatology. He will soon begin his career at Schweiger Dermatology Group, a nationally recognized and renowned dermatology practice. He was born and raised in East Haven, Connecticut, and is a first-generation college student - the first to obtain both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees, and the first in his family to work in healthcare. He earned his undergraduate degree from the prestigious Wesleyan University in Connecticut and then went on to the esteemed Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston to complete his Masters in the Physician Assistant Program. At graduation, Kush was recognized by his classmates and the principal faculty for his outstanding bedside manner and was presented with the Compassionate Care Award. Kush returns to his hometown to practice and looks forward to caring for the people in his local community.

I strongly believe Kush deserves this recognition for his long years of study and hard work, as well as his commitment to caring for the very population that he grew up around. His stellar education at top-notch universities combined with his empathetic demeanor and expertise in the field of Dermatology will make him an exceptional Physician Assistant who will serve as an exemplary role model for those before him. His accomplishments as a first-generation student are a testament to his grit and determination and prove to be a source of motivation to those who want to follow in his footsteps. What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?

From a young age, Kush's steps were very intentional, with each one inching closer to his goals and dreams. He was an Honor Roll student and graduated top-of-the-class from a New Haven Magnet High School.

I hope that my son's adventure serves as a motivation to many young professionals in our local community!
