- MA and/or Sixth-Year Certification in Education Leadership or Curriculum Instruction
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience at the high school level preferred but not required.
- Minimum two years of experience in an administrative position or equivalent preferred but not required.
Position Summary: Provides support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for directing assigned programs and services; providing information and serving as a resource to others; supervising and evaluating assigned staff; coordinating school activities and addressing issues, situations and/problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students. Ability to work well with people; demonstrate and maintain productive and positive interpersonal skills; consult and facilitate groups of individuals; communicate effectively with teachers, principals, parents, students and instructional aides. Extensive knowledge and experience working with Common Core State Standards; knowledge and experience implementing research-based instructional practices and a variety of assessment tools and analyzing student data; knowledge of current research and resources related to integration of technology, blended-learning environments, district- and site-based goals, staff development, and group processes; strong understanding/knowledge of best practices in reading and writing, including connections to other content (cross-curricular connections); and comprehensive understanding of NEASC standards and accreditation process.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Serves as the Principal in the absence of the building Principal
- Facilitate meetings (e.g. department, curriculum, safety, Planning and Placement Team, etc.) for the purposes of coordinating activities and ensuring that outcomes that outcomes achieve school, district and/or state objectives
- Evaluates assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and performance is maximized
- Intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of assisting students in modifying such behavior developing successful interpersonal skills
- Represents the school within community forums for the purpose of maintaining ongoing community support for educational goals and/or assisting with issues related to school environment
- Collaborate with Special Education and content area teachers to builds interdisciplinary and differentiated classroom experiences
- Oversee implementation of curriculum, instructional practices and assessment of students and revise/address issues as appropriate
- Assist the principal in preparing the budget and purchase ordering
- Assist the principal in overseeing and coordinating facility management
- Manage time and schedule multiple projects effectively in order to maximize teacher learning
- Collaborate with Instructional Leaders to develop curriculum and assessments that align with district initiatives
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Coordinator of Special Education on the scheduling of paraprofessionals
- Evaluates paraprofessionals for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and performance is maximized
- Coordinates the PSAT assessment administration and assists with the coordination of other standardized assessments such as the SAT, etc.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to collaborate with teachers and district/building administrators to maximize course offerings for students
- Participate in professional development to support continuous growth and development as a leader
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
