East Haven High School Students Run Their Own Live Broadcast Channel
The group of "go-getter" students produces every aspect of a live broadcast that includes announcements, weather, sports, and lots more.
High school educator and marching band director Steve Wolf, who is also owner/operator of Wolf Studios, gave a major shout-out on Facebook to a group of students that are, in essence, running their own broadcasting channel at the high school.
"Hey everyone, just something awesome going on at EHHS you all might be interested in," Wolf posted to the popular Good Things About East Haven community page. "We've got a group of students that do a LIVE broadcast of announcements, weather, sports, and other stuff every "D" day. This isn't a class, it's just a motivated group of go-getters. Students are the on-air talent, they run the cameras, lights, sound, they write the script, and they created all the graphics. Mrs. Spinelli and I guide them, but it's their show. They've been running these since about December, and it seemed like it this might be a good episode to show the town."

Wolf explained that none of the programming is edited.
"It's all done LIVE in one take and broadcast on a five-second delay to the entire school," he said. "These kids are getting some awesome experience in the world of live broadcasting."

By the way, if you think this is cool (it is) and want to help in some way, there are some "equipment needs," Wolf said.
"So if anyone would be interested in donating or hooking us up, drop an email to me, swolf@east-haven.k12.ct.us, or Mrs. Spinelli, jspinelli@east-haven.k12.ct.us.
