East Haven Mayor Joseph A. Carfora's Merit Award Winners Named, Set To Be Honored Sept. 4

Awards go to folks who demonstrate exceptional public service, leadership, community involvement, selflessness, and remarkable achievements.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Mayor Joseph A. Carfora announced the recipients of the 2025 Mayor's Merit Awards, described as a "distinguished honor" recognizing individuals within our community who demonstrate exceptional public service, leadership, community involvement, selflessness, and remarkable achievements.

The Mayor's Merit Awards honor those who make significant daily contributions to our community through their dedication and commitment to public service. The newly established Merit Award Committee, composed of dedicated community members, played a vital role in selecting the nominees.

The following recipients have been chosen for their exemplary qualities and merits:

Traditionally, this event at Amarante’s serves as the official kickoff to our Fall Festival weekend. The festival promises a fantastic lineup, including live music, our annual road race, the Chamber Business Expo, and the annual car show Sunday.
