East Haven Teacher 'Goes The Extra Mile'

EAST HAVEN, CT — Great teachers matter. In East Haven, we're fortunate to have teachers like Michael Archambault.

This submission comes from Heather Archambault who nominated Michael Archambault of East Haven, her child's technology teacher.

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Not only does this teacher do everything for his school and students he is truly loved by everyone in our community. All the students love him and he makes learning fun. He is also the girls varsity basketball coach and the president of the teachers union for the town he works and has lived in his whole life. He is respected by everyone and works so much. Not only does he go above and beyond for the students in his school he works at but he also goes the extra mile and is there for his basketball team that go to him for everything even if it’s not basketball related. He helps his girls with school work with mandatory study halls to make sure they keep their grades up because that comes first. He also works so hard as the union president with any issues the teachers may have and that he will help with 24/7 he is loved by everyone and respected and I have to say I am beyond proud to call him my husband! He is well deserving of this and although he may not think so I see first hand on all the hours he puts in for the students, teachers and the community! I could never do what he does and I honestly don’t know how he does it!!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

That he would do anything for his students and other teachers and the community he is definitely one of a kind!!
