July 18-20 at Cabaret on Main in East Haven

East Haven, CT - New Haven Academy of Performing Arts (NHAOPA) and Broadway Dance's Broadway Bound Summer Musical Theatre Intensive present HEAD OVER HEELS - THE MUSICAL for five performances July 18 through 20 at the intimate venue located at Cabaret on Main Theatre. 597 Main Street Rear in downtown East Haven. Hot on the "heels" of sold-out summer runs of Heathers (2023) and Legally Blonde (2024), NHAOPA audiences won't want to wait to get their tickets.

Head Over Heels is the bold musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band the Go-Go’s, including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth,” and “Mad About You.”

An inspired mash-up of posh and punk, Head Over Heels is an unpredictable Elizabethan romp about a royal family that must prevent an oracle’s prophecy of doom. In order to save their beloved kingdom, the family embarks on an extravagant journey where they are faced with mistaken identities, love triangles, and self-discovery.

The musical will be performed Friday, July 18 at 7pm; Saturday, July 19 at 2pm and 7pm; Sunday, July 20 at 1pm and 6pm. Tickets for Head Over Heels - The Musical go on sale to the general public on July 5. Tickets are $35.
