Health Dept. Issues Warning After 8 ODs In Area, 2 In East Haven

EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Shore District Health Department has issued a warning about a potential "bad batch of drugs out there," according to Barbara Naclerio, district health educator.

"Our area has had eight overdoses over the past week. Two in Guilford, two in East Haven and four in Branford," Naclerio said. Tragically, "one of the over-doses in Guilford was fatal."

"We believe there may be a bad batch of drugs out there. The East Shore District Health Department can provide people with fentanyl test strips if needed. We also can help people learn how to use Narcan to reverse an over-dose. We can supply them with free Narcan."

The East Shore District Health Department will be bringing their mobile clinic with Harm reduction supplies to the Big Y shopping center in Guilford Thursday 04/10 11:30am-1:30pm, Commercial Parkway (Walmart lower lot) in Branford Thursday 2pm-4pm, East Haven bowling alley lot Friday 12pm-2pm.
