Meet East Haven's School Resource Officers: One You Know, One Is New

EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Haven Police Department shared news about its 2024-2025 school resource officers, or SROs as they are better known.

Officer Nicole Burrell is returning for her fourth year as an SRO, bringing her experience and dedication back to the schools, police posted on Facebook.

"She has been an invaluable part of fostering a safe and positive environment for our students and staff," it was noted.

Officer Paul Scelza is the new cop on the school block. He begins his first year as SRO for Joseph Melillo Middle School.

"Scelza is eager to build relationships with students, parents, and faculty and is committed to ensuring a secure and supportive atmosphere at the school," police wrote.

"We are confident that Officers Burrell and Scelza will continue to make a positive impact on our community, and we look forward to a great year ahead," East Haven police noted on social media.
