
Donald R. Maselli Sr., of Branford, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at Connecticut Hospice at the age of 64, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Denise Maselli for 41 years. Beloved father of Donald Maselli Jr. (Elizabeth), Lauren Hebert (Ryan), Taylor Polverini (Leo), and Cameron Luth (Cameron). He is also survived by his six cherished grandchildren, with one more expected in December. Born in New Haven on November 12, 1960, Donald was the son of Leonard and Beverly Maselli. He is also survived by his sisters Francine Proulx (Ed) and Deborah Hochadel (Manpreet). Donald took great pride in his career as a Pipefitter and deeply valued the friendships he made through his work. A devoted fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants, he also found his greatest joy spending time with his grandchildren. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Yale New Haven Hospital and Connecticut Hospice staff for their compassionate care throughout Donald’s courageous battle with renal cancer.
His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven Tuesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Blessed Michael McGivney Parish at St. Joseph’s Church, 129 Edwards St., in New Haven at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Family and friends may call MONDAY from 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
