'Roaming' Dog Hit, Killed By Car, Other Roaming Dog Nearly Hit: ACO
Dog hit, killed by car when other "roaming" dog bolts in front of vehicle. Dog owners can face up to $300 roaming dogs fines: Animal Control
EAST HAVEN, CT — East Haven Animal Control shared grim news Monday after a "roaming" dog was struck and killed by a car. As cops were responding to the first dog hit, another "roaming" dog bolted out in front of an animal control vehicle.
Animal Control Officer Emily Higgins and staff posted to Facebook that incidents like this illustrate one of the reasons for roaming dog fines. And it's pointed out that those fines can be as high as $300.
"This afternoon our officers responded to a dog hit by a car and as they were responding a brown dog ran out in front of one of their vehicles," the post reads. "Fortunately that dog was not harmed and went back home, but unfortunately the dog that was hit by a car did not make it.
