I do not have any family that work for or have been elected to local or state government.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Board of Selectmen: 2023 - present

Why are you seeking this office?
I'm running for re-election because I care about Ellington and want to keep pushing for practical, common-sense decisions that help our town. I've lived here my whole life, ran a business here, and now work in local government as Deputy Assessor in Vernon—so I understand both sides of how town decisions affect residents and taxpayers.

Since being elected, I've supported policies that keep Ellington affordable, backed local farms and small businesses, and made sure we're spending tax dollars wisely. I’ve served on the Charter Revision Committee, joined the Conservation Commission, and stayed involved in the community through groups like the Lions Club.

I’m here to do the work and make choices that are good for Ellington.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
The single most pressing issue facing Ellington residents and families is keeping Ellington affordable for the people who live and work here. As a former small business owner and now a municipal employee, I understand how rising costs impact working families, seniors, and veterans. Every dollar counts—whether you’re managing a household, a business, or a town budget.

I’ll continue to support responsible budgeting and focus on strengthening the services our community depends on. My goal is to promote solutions that are practical and in the best interest of our residents.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
All of the candidates for the Board of Selectmen will bring their own strengths and experiences to the role.

If re-elected, I will continue to bring a common-sense approach to the issues that matter to Ellington residents. As a lifelong resident and a small business owner for two decades, I rely on those experiences to look at problems differently and find realistic, effective solutions that help move the town forward.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Supporting Ellington’s farms continues to be a priority for me. Not just protecting our farmland, but the families and businesses that work those farms. They’re a big part of what makes this town what it is, and we need to make sure they can stay viable in an uncertain economy.

Ellington continues to make strides in supporting small businesses, and as a former business owner, I know how important that is. We should keep finding ways to improve on that support, to make it easier for businesses to start, grow, and stay right here in town.

Ellington Social Services does an outstanding job with outreach and support to our veteran community here in town. With the new CT legislation that recently passed, I believe there should be a review of the additional local veteran exemptions to see if they make sense for our town.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I don't think past accomplishments are always indicative of future success, and ultimately, it’s up to the voters of Ellington to decide if I’m the right fit to continue serving on the Board of Selectmen.

• I currently serve as Deputy Assessor for the Town of Vernon.
• I’ve been a small business owner in town, running a restaurant and brewery, managing finances, staff, and working directly with the public.
• I have over 15 years of coaching experience — first with Ellington High School baseball (6 years) and then with the Ellington American Legion baseball team (10 years).
• My corporate experience includes roles at Citigroup Global Investments in Hartford and W.P. Carey in New York.
• I serve on Ellington’s Conservation Commission.
• I volunteer with the Ellington Lions Club.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Your effort, in any endeavor, is the part where you have the greatest impact.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
If I’m re-elected, I’ll continue to focus on the issues that matter most to the people who live and work in Ellington. I’ve always believed in practical, common-sense decision making—and that listening to our residents is one of the most important parts of the job. I care deeply about our town, and I’m committed to doing the work to keep Ellington a strong, affordable place for families, farms, and businesses.
