My husband and I moved to Ellington 24 years ago. We have three children our oldest Steven is a sophomore at the University of Connecticut majoring in agronomy and minoring in history. We also have a daughter Elizabeth and a son Nicholas, who are both seniors at Ellington High School. We have three dogs. A husky named Sledder and two German shepherds named Baer and Kaiser.

No

Yes, I have been a Board of Education member for 8 years

Why are you seeking this office?
The main reason is to help the students in our district, have the best possible education, giving them the most opportunities for their future.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
The single, most pressing issue facing my constituents is financial stability. Keeping our per-pupil cost low and our student outcomes high speaks to the fiscally responsible Board of Education budget which acknowledges our shared concern for being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have the experience of being a board member for the last 8 years which comes with an understanding of the district’s history and projected future for student outcomes. I am a member of all of the standing committees including Finance, Operations, Curriculum, Communications, and Policy.
