7-Eleven to Offer Free Slurpees

Get a free Slurpee today, Wednesday, when 7-Eleven celebrates 85 years!

It's pretty easy to remember an anniversary when the date and the company name are the same. To celebrate the company's 85th anniversary, the Manchester 7-Eleven stores, and other participating locations, will provide free Slurpees from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

In keeping with the dual-number theme, the free iced drinks will be served in 7.11 ounce-size cups, available while supplies last.

“This year we expect to give away 7 million Slurpee drinks, more than ever before, beating last year’s offer by 2 million," Joe DePinto, 7-Eleven president and CEO, said in a statement.

Here's what Slurpee fans had to say on 7-Eleven's Facebook page about the free drink:

Debbie Rose Conner: My husband loves slurpees, I like them too but I am diabetic so I quit drinking them. Now I hear they have a sugar free slurpee, yeah buddy, I am going to get me a free, sugar free BRAIN FREEZE.

Geena Halpern THANKS 7 ELEVEN!!! I love cherry.

7-Eleven got its start in 1927, the statement said, when an employee started selling bread, milk and eggs on an ice dock in a Dallas suburb. The corporation now has  9,300 7-Eleven stores in North America and nearly 50,000 worldwide.
