ELLINGTON, CT — State police have made an arrest in connection with the theft of dirt bikes in Ellington more than a year ago.

David Garcia, who has listed addresses of Las Vegas, NV and Springfield, MA in police documents, was charged via a warrant with third-degree larceny in connection with the incident on Hillside Drive, state police said. He posted a $10,000 bond and is due in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 14, records show.

A warrant shows the case dates back to May 28, 2024, when, at 2:54 a.m., a resident of Hillside Drive informed state police that a man in a gray sweatshirt and black pants had been walking through a back yard before climbing into a pickup truck.

The resident said a padlock to a shed had been cut and two dirt bikes were missing, according to a warrant.

A pickup truck carrying dirt bikes was later noticed driving through the Ellington neighborhood and on a street in Enfield, according to a warrant.
