Ellington Board Of Education Kicks Off 2026–27 Budget Process With January Workshops

ELLINGTON, CT — The Ellington Board of Education has begun its public process for developing the 2026–2027 school budget, with a series of workshops and meetings scheduled throughout January.
The budget process officially kicked off with a pre-budget workshop, as the board starts early discussions on priorities, spending needs, and planning considerations for the upcoming school year. All meetings are open to the public, and agendas will be posted at least 24 hours in advance, according to the district.
Several additional budget-related sessions are scheduled in the coming weeks, including evening workshops, a Saturday workshop, a Finance Committee meeting, and a regular Board of Education meeting.

Budget Workshop: Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m.

Saturday Budget Workshop: Saturday, Jan. 10, at 9 a.m.
Finance Committee Meeting: Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m.
Regular Board of Education Meeting: Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m.
The Jan. 8 and Jan. 10 budget workshops will be livestreamed on the district’s YouTube channel at @EllingtonPublicSchoolsCT, allowing residents to follow along remotely.
School officials encourage community members to review posted agendas for specific discussion topics and to attend meetings to stay informed as the budget process moves forward.
