Ellington Officials Alert Residents To Scheduled State Police Training Event

Police activity near Windermere School over the next three days is part of a planned training exercise, officials said.

ELLINGTON, CT — Town officials are advising residents of a planned police training exercise that will bring an increased law enforcement presence to the area around Windermere School over the next several days.


According to the Town of Ellington, the Connecticut State Police will conduct a scheduled training event at Windermere School on Thursday, Jan. 8, and Friday, Jan. 9, from 5 to 9 p.m., and again on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Officials said residents may notice a large police presence in the area during those times and emphasized that the activity is planned and not related to any emergency. Residents are asked not to be alarmed if they see police vehicles or personnel near the school during the training periods.
