ELLINGTON, CT — A water main break on the east end of Maple Street late Wednesday morning has caused Ellington High School to dismiss students early, and prompted closure of the town's senior center for the day.

On social media, town officials wrote, "Connecticut Water Company is aware of a current water main break on the east end of Maple Street. We have not received a firm timetable on the repair, but it will likely take at least several hours."
