Investigation yielded video surveillance footage from businesses at the Ellington roundabout, which revealed Lewis had sold fentanyl to the victim the night before he was found dead. SnapChat conversations between the two also indicated a purchase had been arranged, according to the affidavit.

An autopsy report from the office of the Chief Medical Examiner said the victim died of "acute intoxication due to the combined effects of Amphetamine, Fentanyl, and Xylazine."
