Ellington and Somers Arrests Include Driving Under the Influence, Tampering with Evidence

June 19
At approximately 12:22 a.m., troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 190 in Somers for a vehicle that troopers observed cross the double yellow line on two occasions. Upon further investigation, the operator, Linzi Karlene Furnari, 21, of 83 Kingsley Rd. in Lebanon, was arrested and transported to Troop C where she was charged with operating under the influence and failure to maintain lane.

A 22-year-old Stafford Springs woman was traveling southbound on Route 186 (Hall Hill Road) approximately 200 feet south of Royal Manor in Somers when she collided with a utility pole off the southbound shoulder. She was uninjured and refused medical treatment at the scene. The vehicle was towed due to damage and the woman was issued infraction for failure to maintain established lane.

Anthony Hall, under the authority of Habeas, issued by Rockville Superior Court, was transported from Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center to Rockville Superior Court so that an active arrest warrant could be served. He was placed under arrest on an active arrest warrant for conspiracy to commit/unauthorized conveyance of a wireless communication device into a prison, criminal attempt to commit conveyance of a wireless communication device into a prison, and tampering with evidence. Hall, 39, of 15 Hillside Dr. in Mystic, was processed and held on a $75,000 bond set by the court.
June 24
A vehicle was traveling northbound on Hall Hill Road in Somers and was attempting to continue left onto Hall Hill Road at the intersection of Watchaug Road when the operator lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to drive off the roadway. The vehicle subsequently drove into the woods approximately 50 feet, suffering disabling damage to the front end. The operator was not injured, but a passenger, a 51-year-old Somers man, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Baystate Medical Center. Another passenger, a 26-year-old Somers man, was not injured. During the course of the accident investigation, the operator, Marcel J. Miller, 27, of 9 Allen St. in Enfield was suspected of operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Miller went through a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was subsequently placed under arrest for operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive in proper lane.
