Firefighters Put Out Dumpster Fire at Somers Transfer Station (Update)
Crews responded to the town property early Sunday morning.

Firefighters from Somers extinguished a dumpster that took hold Sunday morning at the Somers Transfer Station.
Crews responded to the incident around 7:20 a.m., a fire official said. They have since put out the blaze and are still on scene cleaning up.
No one was injured.
The transfer station, administered by the town, is located at 127 Egypt Road.
First Selectman Lisa Pellegrini said the transfer station will have a delayed opening today, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., rather than the usual time. Pellegrini said this is so the firefighters can continue to clean up the scene.
