Kids Power of Produce Club to Debut Saturday at Ellington Farmers' Market

Want a new, local way to encourage your children to make smart and healthy food choices?

The Ellington Farmers Market will soon sponsor a Power of Produce (POP) Club for kids ages 5-12.

The POP Club begins Saturday, June 15 during farmers' market hours, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Each child that signs up will receive a shopping bag and token bag to help work toward collecting $2 tokens to spend on fresh produce, according to a post on the market's Web site.

The initiative will run through Saturday, Aug. 31.
