Man Charged With Sex Crimes Involving Young Victim From Ellington: CSP
A half-million dollar bond has been set for Robert Cohs, who is on the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry for a prior conviction in Florida.

ELLINGTON, CT — A Bolton resident was arrested Tuesday morning on a warrant stemming from an investigation by state police into an incident in which the man is believed to have enticed an underage female into sending him explicit photos of herself.
Robert Cohs Jr., 56, was charged with risk of injury to a minor and enticing a minor. He was held in lieu of $500,000 bond, and was slated to be arraigned Tuesday in Rockville Superior Court.
On July 7, 2024, Connecticut State Police troopers were met by an Ellington resident who wanted to report an incident that occurred between her 10-year-old daughter and an unknown male on Snapchat. Following a lengthy investigation, and with assistance from the FBI, State Police Cyber Crime Unit and the Vernon Police Department, troopers learned Cohs had communicated with the juvenile and enticed her to send him the pictures, police said.

After numerous search and seizure warrants, an arrest warrant was drafted and submitted to Rockville Superior Court and later granted. Troopers arrived at Cohs' home around 7:40 a.m. and took him into custody, police said.
Further investigation revealed Cohs is on the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry, indicating he was convicted of sexual battery of a victim under 12 years of age in Florida in 1993, according to an affidavit supporting his arrest.
