PD: Man Charged With Heroin, Crack Possession in Ellington

State police have arrested an East Hartford man accused of possessing narcotics in Ellington.

Ronnie J. Loyd, 54, of 137 Cannon Road, was taken into custody after a trooper saw he had heroin and crack cocaine in plain view in his car on Highland Avenue according to a police press release.

Police said Loyd was also in possession of cash which they believed to be drug proceeds.

Loyd was processed at the Troop C barracks in Tolland and later released after posting a bond. He is due in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 13.
