Picture Somers - Then And Now
An old photograph and brief story about a business from Somers history, and how that site appears today.

SOMERS, CT — Periodically, Ellington-Somers Patch will post an old photo with a brief story behind it, as well as a look at what the property looks like today.
For more than 50 years, Pasquale "Pat" Pio and his family owned the Somers Food Center at 641 Main Street. No large supermarkets were in town at that time, so nearly every Somers resident shopped at the Food Center.
Pat Pio was heavily involved in the Somers community. The World War II veteran of the U.S. Army moved to town in 1959, and attended All Saints Church with his wife Doris. He was a charter member of the Somers Rotary Club, and also founded Somers Little League.
