SOMERS, CT — A local resident began his post-Fourth of July celebration by cashing in a winning Powerball ticket worth $150,000.

Identified on the CT Lottery website merely as Russell R of Somers, the man purchased his lucky ticket at the Small Town Mobil at 169 Main Street in Somersville. He claimed his winnings Monday, according to the lottery website.

The CT Lottery routinely publishes winnings of $10,000 or more as public record.
