Spring Practices Underway: Ellington, Somers Team State Title History
A look at the state championship history for spring teams at Ellington and Somers high schools.
ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — The winter sports season is now behind us, the calendar has turned to spring, high school practices are well underway and opening day looms around the corner for all seven CIAC-sanctioned spring sports in Connecticut. With the coming of the new season comes the hope for success, with the ultimate goal being winning a state championship.
Ellington High School's 10 spring team state titles date back to 1971, while the first of seven state crowns for Somers spring teams came in 1990.
