Enfield Recreation Announces Upcoming Events
With sports, crafts, and a playgroup, the Enfield Recreation Department welcomes the community to join in the fall fun.

The Recreation Office is located at 19 North Main Street with hours of operation Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Adult Open Gym Basketball Information

The Enfield Recreation Department hosts Open Gym Basketball time for adults 20 and over. Participants must show proof of age and residency to participate in addition to having a program waiver on at the gym. The program will be held October 3 – March 26, check website for no program dates. Daily fee is $2.00 for residents and $2.50 for non-residents.
20 & Over: Mondays, 6:00 – 9:00 PM at JFK Middle School

30 and Over: Wednesday, 6:00 – 9:00 PM at JFK Middle School
40 and Over: Saturdays, 8:00 – 11:00 AM at the Angelo Lamagna Activity Center
Playgroup
This is a great chance for you and your child to meet other families in Enfield and share experiences and first hand secrets of raising children. Your child will be able to explore, learn and play with educational toys and games while moms, dads or caregivers have the chance to socialize. Playgroup is an ongoing program, so registration is NOT necessary, however you must be an Enfield resident to participate. Please note that a participant waiver must be on file with the instructor which can be filled out the first day you attend. There is no play group when school is delayed or closed due to weather. The program runs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, October 3 – December 23 from 9:30 AM- 11:00 AM at the Angelo Lamagna Activity Center. There is no cost for this program.
October Craft Class
Join the Enfield Recreation Department for our monthly craft class. October’s class will get you ready for Halloween! Participants will create a Halloween Scene and a 3D Haunted House. Fee includes all supplies and materials. Class will be held Saturday, October 22nd 9:30 – 10:30 AM and is $2.00 per person. Pre-registration is required as spaces are limited. Adult Open Gym Volleyball
Open Gym Volleyball for adults 18 and up is held on Wednesdays, October 5 – April 5, 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the Eli Whitney School Gym. Check website for no program dates. Participants must show proof of age and residency to participate in addition to having a program waiver on at the gym. Daily fee is $2.00 for residents and $2.50 for non-residents.
1st and 2nd Grade Instructional Basketball
A co-ed instructional program for boys and girls in grades 1 & 2 will be held on Sunday afternoons at JFK Middle School beginning on January 8th. The program will consist of eight, one hour sessions in which participants will work in groups rotating through skill stations to learn the fundamentals of basketball. The program will be run by Recreation Department staff however, we are asking for parent volunteers to help supervise participants at each station. In the final weeks of the program participants will be split up into groups to scrimmage. PLEASE NOTE: this is a drop off program. Parents will only be allowed into the gym for the last two classes. Registration will be limited to 80 participants (40 per session) and will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. This program is for Enfield residents only. Participants may register for one of three time slots. FEE: $35.00 per participant. Registration Deadline: Friday, December 9, 2016 at 5:00 PM or when the program is full.
