Happy Father’s Day From Patrice (Musso) Alston

"He is still the strongest and smartest and will always be the best dad a girl can have!"

In celebration of Father's Day on Sunday June 17, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their father and let us deliver it. This is Sarah Patrice (Musso) Alston's letter to her dad:

My parents met when they were teenagers and have been married for 67 years! I, along with my brothers and sisters, have many wonderful childhood memories thanks to my parents and the man that my father is. Each August we would go to the Connecticut shore to stay at a cottage for two weeks. We’d go camping all over the East Coast, had a swimming pool in our yard, cookouts, parties and special family time.

He would take the family on Sunday drives (as we called them): Trips to Riverside Park, Forest Park, horseback riding and the local ice cream shop were sometimes the surprise destination!

I saw and still see my father as a jack-of-all-trades. He took care of the plumbing, electrical, woodwork and auto repair. He was always making us laugh, could help us with all of our homework, has always had great advice and a listening ear for each of us!

My father has taught me so many things in my 57 years. He is still the strongest and smartest and will always be the best dad a girl can have!

Thank you, Dad, for all that you do and have done for your family!

I love you,
Patrice (Musso)
