Juvenile Charged With Robbery, Assault In Enfield: Police

He's accused of hitting a victim in the head with a handgun, then stealing items the victim intended to sell to him, Enfield police said.

ENFIELD, CT — A juvenile boy faces robbery and assault charges stemming from a sale that went wrong, police said.

Enfield police responded a reported robbery in the area of Tariff Street on Monday at around 6:45 p.m.

The victim told officers they had met up with two individuals to sell items to them, but police said the two people are accused of hitting the victim in the head with handguns, then stealing items from them before fleeing on foot.

The victim suffered minor injuries, police said.

Officers were given a search and seizure warrant for a residence on Tariff Street, where they recovered two handguns and the items stolen from the victim, police said.

Police charged a juvenile suspect with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, fifth-degree larceny and illegal possession of a firearm. He was placed in custody and will appear in juvenile court, police said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
