2 Bridgeport Men In Stolen Rental Car Arrested In Fairfield: Police
The two were pulled over by Fairfield police last week.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two Bridgeport men were arrested last week on vehicle theft charges, after Fairfield police said that an officer found the two were riding in an Enterprise rental car that had been reported stolen, Patch has learned.
Dawood Kotay, 44, and Ahmad Waqas, 45, were both on April 9 on charges of theft of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit theft of a motor vehicle.
According to Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington, the two were pulled over by a patrol officer, who ran the vehicle's license plate and discovered it had been reported as stolen.

"The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified Kotay as the driver, who was found to be operating with a suspended license," Wellington told Patch, adding that Kotay was also charged with the violation. "Further investigation revealed that Waqas, the passenger, had originally rented the vehicle from Enterprise and failed to return it."
Typically, Enterprise reports a vehicle as stolen after 30 days, Wellington said, if the vehicle is not returned, payment is not made, and Enterprise is unable to contact with the renter.
