Downtown Fairfield Farmers Market Returns For 10th Season

The popular farmers market is hosted by the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Farmers Market is set to return for its 10th season on Sunday, offering a weekly lineup of local farms, food producers, and artisans in the heart of downtown.

Hosted by the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department, the market will be held Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, at Sherman Green. It runs through Oct. 12.

This year’s market will feature more than 40 vendors, including four Connecticut farms offering seasonal produce such as vegetables, fruits, and salad greens. In addition to fresh farm goods, visitors can expect a range of products including meat, eggs, fish, bread, salami, honey, desserts, kombucha, CBD items, vegan offerings, pet goods, fresh flowers, pickles, and handcrafted items.

Live music performances and family-friendly activities, including story hours hosted by the Fairfield Public Library, will take place throughout the season. Local nonprofit Food Rescue US will collect vendor food donations for area pantries, and Sustainable Fairfield will be on-site to promote environmental initiatives and recycling awareness.

In addition to the downtown edition, another farmers market is held on Saturdays in Fairfield's Greenfield Hill section.
