LTE: Experience Matters: Tony Hwang Will Stand Up for Fairfield Taxpayers
Elections Matter. Vote for experience. Vote for Tony Hwang.
To the Editor:
The taxpayers in Fairfield have one last chance to choose sanity over status quo. We cannot proceed with someone who has no resume to suggest she can lead this town. She would be a rubber stamp on tax increases. She has been a rubber stamp, as all Democrats have been, to the obtrusive building that has occurred in residential neighborhoods which has only just begun. Everyone has noticed the traffic all around town at all hours of the day. You know who to thank. But we have an alternative to the status quo. Tony Hwang. Tony has been a leader in Fairfield for decades. He has fought the uphill fight in Hartford against overwhelming odds. Tony voted no on free passes for builders. He is well equipped to lead the fight against never ending tax increases, against unsightly building which has led to longer waits at traffic lights and will lead to a demand for investing in infrastructure to handle a possible 10% increase in our population. Such a demand will inevitably lead to higher taxes to fund those projects. Tony is well known around town. You will often find him engaged in conversations on streets across Fairfield. He loves the town and its people. Tony is known for crossing the aisle in an effort to move legislation forward while standing firm on his principles. We have received the new appraisals for our homes. The increases are mind numbing. You combine these new values with the fact democrats in town haven't seen a tax increase they didn't love or an increase in a budget line item they didn't approve, our property taxes will be skyrocketing. One candidate will accept this as the new normal. One will fight for taxpayers. I want a fighter. I want someone who has the experience that only comes with being involved at all levels of government, someone who knows policies that are intended to benefit special interest and opposes them in favor of policies that will help every day taxpayers. I fully support Tony Hwang for First Selectman. It's time for common sense to guide our votes. Join me in bringing common sense policies back to Town Hall.
