Fairfield American 50/70 Wins State Championship

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield American 50/70 baseball team has secured its third consecutive Connecticut State Championship. The State Tournament was held in Ledyard, CT and hosted by District 10 Little League.
In a hard-fought and dramatic game against a resilient Southington team, Fairfield American emerged victorious with a final score of 11–8, completing a rare and impressive three-peat in the 50/70 division.

The game saw multiple lead changes, with Southington taking a 4th inning 5–4 advantage. Fairfield responded by pulling ahead 7–5, only to see the game tied once again at 7–7 in the fifth inning. In the sixth, Fairfield’s offense capitalized on a pitching change by Southington, regaining control of the game with a four-run inning.
“This team just refuses to quit,” Manager Greg Wolf. “It wasn’t a perfect game, but it showed the heart, determination, and team-first mentality that the boys have developed through their Little League career.”

"These kids have been playing together since tee ball and I am thrilled to see them end their Little League run with a State Title," Coach Jake Frame said.
With this win, Fairfield American now advances to represent Connecticut at the 50/70 East Regional Tournament in Delaware, beginning on July 17. The team will use the next two weeks to regroup, focus on fundamentals, and prepare to compete on the regional stage.
