Fairfield Rallies To Help Woman Battling Liver Cancer
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to aid Melissa Yerrington, a local massage therapist.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Melissa Yerrington, a local massage therapist with Massage Envy Fairfield, is a pancreatic cancer survivor who recently began a new fight, according to her friends and co-workers.
This time, the single mother of a daughter is now battling liver cancer.
After a 16-month fight against pancreatic cancer, which included "tough treatments and a very challenging surgery," Yerrington is taking a holistic treatment plan for this new battle, as traditional medicine is no longer an option. A GoFundMe campaign aims to help her and her daughter, Lily, with expenses.

The GoFundMe page was started by Eugenia Tzoannopoulos, who says that Yerrington "never let her own challenges get in the way of helping others."
"Everyday Melissa is an inspiration," Tzoannopoulos wrote. "I know most of us sit in awe as we are watching her fight a battle that is both physically or mentally excruciating. Even through this battle, she is positive shining light."
