Harry Hyde, 85, Fairfield Resident & WWII Veteran

Harry Wilson Hyde, age 85, beloved husband of Doris Marie Brideau Hyde, of Fairfield, passed away on June 4, 2013 in Bridgeport Hospital. 

In addition to his childhood sweetheart, and devoted wife, Doris, Harry will be remembered by his children, Mark Hyde, and his wife, Jo Ann Tigner, of Fairfield, Lory Lee, and her husband Henry, of Huntington, Nancy Holomakoff, of Fairfield, David Hyde, of Trumbull, Margaret Sherwood and her husband Thomas, of Fairfield; his grandchildren Jesse Tigner, Max Hyde, Henry, Cody and Jesse Lee. Amy, Alan and David Holomakoff. Daniel, Matthew, Alex and Lauren Hyde. Melissa Small, TJ and Katie Sherwood.  his great grandchildren Amanda, Allison, Abigail, London, Mason and Weston; one brother Richard Hyde and his wife, Rose; many nieces and nephews. 

Born and raised in Bridgeport, Harry was a resident of Fairfield for many years. After proudly serving in the United States Navy during World War II, he worked for SNET until his retirement in 1982. He continued his career with EXTEL Communication until his second retirement in 1998.

A talented handyman, Harry enjoyed doing projects around his home. He loved his family and friends, and will be deeply missed. 

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His funeral will take place on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, with interment to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
