Press release

Bridgeport – Hartford HealthCare Neighborhood Health at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Southwest Community Health Center and Optimus Healthcare have joined forces to bring a monthly community health clinic to Mount Aery Baptist Church (73 Frank St., Bridgeport).

“This clinic is an important step in addressing historical inequities in access to healthcare for underserved individuals, particularly those who are Black and brown,” said Bill Hoey, vice president of mission services for the Hartford HealthCare Fairfield Region. “Systemic racism and resulting mistrust have produced significant disparities in access to desperately needed healthcare. We know that we need to go where people are comfortable and this clinic is a major step in the right direction.”
