Illegal Marijuana Products Seized, 3 Busted In Fairfield Police Raids

Members of the department's Quality of Life Unit and state officials conducted the raids last week at a pair of local smoke shops.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police last week, in coordination with multiple state agencies, conducted raids at a pair of local smoke shops, seizing a substantial quantity of illegal marijuana products and arresting three people in the process.

The enforcement operation, carried out with the Department of Consumer Protection, Department of Mental Health Services, Department of Labor, and Department of Revenue Services, targeted two businesses:

  • US 1 Vape Shop, 2475 Black Rock Turnpike
  • World Smoke & Cigar, 95 Reef Road

During the inspections, authorities seized various illegal marijuana products, including vape pens, edibles, and pre-rolls.

"The Fairfield Police Department extends its sincere gratitude to the public for their continued vigilance and for providing valuable tips and information related to these offenses," said Sgt. Jenna Wellington in a statement. "We take community concerns seriously and remain actively committed to addressing illegal activities that impact the safety and quality of life of Fairfield residents. We encourage the public to continue sharing information so that, together, we can maintain the well-being of our community."

As a result, police arrested the following individuals:

  • Aseel Alsaidi, 27 – US 1 Vape Shop
  • Jabar Saidi, 27 – US 1 Vape Shop
  • Issa Albahari, 23 – World Smoke & Cigar

Alsaidi and Saidi were charged with possession of more than eight ounces of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug factory situation. Albahari faces charges of possession of more than one kilogram of marijuana with intent to sell, along with possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug factory situation.

Both businesses were also cited for illegally selling vape and nicotine products to individuals under 21.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on April 9.
