Letter To The Editor: Three Strikes Rule Needed For Fairfield Official

To the Editor:
The behavior of Board of Finance member Kevin Starke displayed at a public meeting held on Monday, September 26, was simply outrageous. It would be shocking, except for the fact that Mr. Starke is a repeat offender when it comes to disrespectful behavior towards his fellow elected officials. His latest temper tantrum on camera involved hurling childish sarcastic remarks at another member and then proceeding to have an absolute meltdown when he was asked to stick to the agenda topic at hand. But don’t just take my word for it, you can witness it yourself here, around the 47-minute mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6U8Et54cHI&ab_channel=FairTVGovernment
This is a man who is entrusted by the public to vote on millions of dollars worth of appropriations. Take 5 minutes and watch him in action. Then ask yourself, how did this man get nominated and elected to public office? Why does he keep turning his camera on and off during hybrid meetings? Where is the Democratic Town Committee (DTC) Executive Board? Why are the fellow Democrats on the BOF accepting of this behavior? This is a pattern of unprofessional and demeaning behavior by an elected official. Mr. Starke has apologized before, but clearly not with the intent of changing his demeanor.
