Carol Jean Throndson, 49, passed away on Jul. 4, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer; she was a dedicated medical sales professional, most recently with Neurent Medical, and worked closely with surgeons in bariatrics, urology, and ENT. An avid traveler and paddle boarder with a reflective spirit and vibrant energy, she found joy in everyday adventures and was deeply engaged in spiritual growth.

Sandra H. Hiltz, age 88, passed away peacefully on Jul. 27, 2025, at home after a long illness. A graduate of the Thomas School and attendee of Wheelock College, she was a skilled flower arranger, longtime church guild member, accomplished seamstress recognized by the Smocking Arts Guild of America, and a successful breeder of champion Bedlington Terriers.

Michael Fernand Couture, 52, died unexpectedly on Aug. 1, 2025; a lifelong landscaper, he also worked as a chauffeur, oil deliveryman, and school bus driver, and enjoyed collecting memorabilia and connecting with his community. A devoted Catholic and altar server in youth, he grew up playing sports with his brothers and was known for his generosity and outgoing nature.

Daniel “Dan” Rivera, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Jul. 13, 2025, while on tour with the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), where he worked following his service as a U.S. Army veteran. A dedicated paranormal investigator and proud soldier, he found joy in his work, music, and spending time with close friends.

Harriet Sargent Wiswell, age 98, died Aug. 2 at home, having spent her life devoted to family, sailing, skiing, tennis, antiques, and restoring historic homes. A Colby College graduate and lifelong traveler, she was active in civic organizations including Pequot Yacht Club, Southport Congregational Church, Sasqua Garden Club, and the Fairfield Museum.

Patrick James Maher, age 49, passed away on Jul. 11, 2025. A skilled fiberglass craftsman and owner of Amity Fiberglass, LLC, he was known for his work in repair and fabrication and spent much of his free time boating and fishing off Penfield Reef and Southport Harbor.
