Smoke Advisory Issued In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — Smoke from wildfires in Massachusetts is visible in southern Connecticut, prompting the Fairfield Health Department to issue an advisory for residents.

"Smelling smoke today? Due to a large brush fire in Great Barrington, MA, with smoke traveling southward into Connecticut, many residents may be noticing a strong smell of smoke and haze," Fairfield officials wrote on the department's Facebook page. "If you are unusually sensitive to particle pollution, consider reducing your activity level or shorten the amount of time you are active outdoors."
